The two biggest fallacies regarding STRESS... 1) There is nothing you can do about it. Ever heard yourself think: I feel so stressed... But I guess that's just life... It's unavoidable, there's nothing I can do about it if I want to 'get ahead', so I'll ignore how shit I feel and deal with it later... ___ 2) It's always bad for our health. From the other side of the spectrum... If you're not busy ignoring the issues caused from stress, you're probably on the other side of the fence and stressing yourself silly about how everything that creates that feeling of worry, anxiousness or tension is crippling your health. ___ In both cases, the most significant cause of stress? Yep...it's you. ___ As with most things in life, end spectrum behaviour rarely leads to good health or quality of life. ___ The mbHQ 'STRESS TIP' for today is to engage in your hobbies and passions more often. Research shows that when engaged in your passions or hobbies, you will feel almost a 1/3 less stressed and approximately 1/5 happier! If you don't have anything you're overly passionate about, focus on something you're skilled at instead. While the passion might not be there, you will have the ability to 'get into the zone' and downregulate your 'thinking self' and stress response. So... What hobby would you love to get back into, or spend more time doing? #mindset #mindbodyhq #themindbodyguy #mindbodyscience #happinesshabit #gratitude #healthyhabits #mentalhealth #scienceiscool #healthstats
